World of Zing: A Symphony of Flavours Beyond Ordinary

Springetts' Award-Winning Packaging Design for Hot Sauces

Springetts, a renowned design team, has redefined the packaging design of hot sauces for the speciality food and drink brand, World of Zing. The project, launched in June 2017 in the UK, aimed to add more 'zing' to the brand, resulting in an expressive and playful visual identity that lets the product do the talking.

The design team was challenged to bring to life a new brand essence – ‘flavour beyond ordinary’. This idea was then visually expressed through artistic mark-making techniques that capture both the excitement and involvement of adding some zing to one's food and drink. The result is a range of hot sauces in 250ml bottles in two different formats, each with a simple, emotive visual identity.

The unique properties of this design lie in its ability to add an interesting and visually exciting range of sauces to consumers' meals. The design encourages consumers to add some zing to their meals, thereby enhancing their culinary experience. The bottles are made of glass with metal lids, a testament to the brand's commitment to quality and sustainability.

The design process involved a significant amount of research to launch a new range of sauces with an up-to-date and exciting visual appeal. The team faced the creative challenge of visually expressing the brand essence through traditional, artistic mark-making techniques. The challenge was to capture both the excitement and involvement of adding some zing to one's food and drink.

The design was realized under the leadership of Creative Director Paul Williams and Design Directors Kevin Daly and Lee Purvis. Their collective efforts resulted in a design that not only adds flavour to food and drink but also adds a touch of artistry to the dining table. The design was awarded Silver in A' Packaging Design Award in 2018, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
